Frameless shower doors are very elegant. They are usually made of thicker glass.
They are called frameless because the glass is supported by hardware only. The glass is very strong and the hardware holds it in place.
Many cheaper shower doors have an inexpensive aluminum frame. The frame allows for a less expensive glass to be used. They are not as appealing overall.
