Outdoor showers encourage our interaction with nature and water. Outdoor showers are unique because they allow us to interact with nature and water simultaneously. Some people claim that nature and water together creates a unique mind body connection. One thing for sure, we know that water heals the body. Water from natural (non polluted) sources bring the highest benefits. If possible, plumb your outdoor shower to a natural spring or acquifer.
Water Heals
Our body is 75 % water. Our brain is 85% water. It is water that energizes and activates solid organ function. If you don’t take enough water, some functions of the body will suffer.
Water Must Be Present For Life To Exist
When scientists look for human life on other planets, they look for water. Why? Because scientists know that without water life can not exist. Between seventy and eighty percent of planet earth is water. Nearly all of earths water is contained in the oceans. Only a small fraction, about 3 percent, of earths water is freshwater. Mother nature continues to recycle the water. It is possible that the water you drank yesterday was someones bathwater at some time in history.
How Much Water Should I Drink?
The Mayo Clinic recommends that men drink an average of 3 liters of water per day and women 2.2 liters per day. It is impossible to have an exact figure because of environmental conditions. For example, a landscaper working in the hot heat in july will need a lot more water than an office worker in a cool climate. In general, larger people should consume more water than small people. Most people drink a lot of items besides water. We may drink coffee, tea, soda, milk, and orange juice. It is important to remember that water is the best drink. Many of our modern drinks have caffeine. Caffeine is a diuretic that aids in the loss of water (i.e. deyhdration). It is a good idea for us to avoid caffeine. Many people are dehydrated, but do not realize it.
