Outdoor Shower Enclosures

Wood
Cedar fence materials make a good outdoor enclosure.  Large 6 by 6 posts and thick cedar slats are ideal.  Cedar is natural and beautiful.  You will connect with nature.  The smell of the cedar against outdoor air will make the shower quite enjoyable.

Glass Block

Who is that taking a shower?  Glass blocks allow light to come into the shower.  This can be fun on a moonlight night.  Blocks are also a sexy feature for an outdoor shower. 

Vinyl

Vinyl fencing material is sometimes used.  It is inexpensive to maintain.

Pressure Treated Lumber

Pressure treated lumber should only be handled with gloves.  It’s not a good idea to make a shower out of it.  There are contaminants in the wood.

Frameless Enclosures

Frameless glass enclosures are beautiful to look at.  The glass is thick and clear. It looks elegant and is easy to clean.  If the budget allows, this is a fine choice.

Framed Enclosures

Framed enclosures can still look great. They allow for a thinner glass material to be used.  In addition, the designs can be modified more easily than frameless.

Acrylic Enclosures

Acrylic enclosures are not the norm like glass.  They can, however, be quite artistic.  They allow for more colors and unique shapes.  Lavatory designers like unique acrylic enclosures made by artisans.
